Samsung Series 7 Windows Tablet PC
The folks over at blog.laptopmag.com got there hands on the new Samsung Series 7 tablet PC running Windows 7. This Windows tablet came out of the blue since there were no rumors reported ahead of this. Samsung will officially announce this tablet at the IFA in Berlin, which begins today.
Here are some comments and specifications as discovered by blog.laptopmag.com.
The Series 7 Tablet, which features all the internal components of its Series 9 notebook, but with an 11-inch touch screen and active stylus, starting at $1,099.
As far as tablets go, the Series 7 is on the large side: It’s about 1/2 an inch thick and weighs a hair under 2 pounds. However, that’s because it has to accommodate an Intel Core i5 processor, SSD, and 4GB of RAM, same as on the Series 9 notebook. Still, Samsung says the tablet should last up to 7 hours on a charge.
The Series 7 tablet has an 11.6-inch display with a 400-nit brightness and a resolution of 1366 x 768. The touch screen accepts finger as well as pen input, and the tablet ships with an active Wacom stylus. In our testing, it recorded our writing very quickly, and with no lag–the way tablets should act.
Like the Series 7 notebooks, the tablet has fast start technology, and it includes a touch-friendly interface (seen above) as well as apps optimized for the display. it also has a SIM card slot, micro HDMI, a microSD card slot, and a full-size USB port.
The Series 7 Tablet will start at $1,099 and include a 64GB SSD; the $1,349 version will have a 128GB SSD, and will come with the dock and Bluetooth keyboard.
